so the very first thing people see as soon as they come here is the latest posts yeah

what they should see as soon as they get here is the subforum in which they can introduce themselves

to encourage new posters, and generate activity, i strongly recommend moving latest posts to the right hand side bar

or just scrapping newest posts as a highlight altogether its really not a necessary feature

okay so next up - the overall theme

i'm sorry i've already raised it but honestly, brightly coloured links against bright background = looks bad

pls pls pls move to a darker aesthetic more reminiscent of vf ideally but just something thats yknow

a lil easier on the eyes :p

the spam is still an ongoing issue but it seems to be contained solely in the promotion forum

however pls look at the actual description for the promotion forum itself

> Promote your cult, website, profile, band, etc.

that alone is an open invitation for people to crap all over things which (and let's be fair here) is clearly already happening

over time this will

a) drive your site ranking down
b) throttle your user engagement
c) just look terrible overall i mean really why would you want this

i'd recommend ditching the promotional subforum overall

it may lead to that crap leaking out into other subforums but

i'd see that as being clear disregard for the forum as a whole and there could be many justifiable bans as a result :D

I like this idea. I did clear the forum out after you made a post about it. But I think I will remove the forum altogether. I have some great ideas coming soon too.
