I'm normally a non-fiction reader, but I'm taking up a few novels this year. Currently reading Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters (this is my first Pratchett book!) and Emily Tesh's Some Desperate Glory. Both are cleverly written in their own ways.

So what are you reading now? 📚📖

Wow, I haven't read a book in ages. I also enjoy non-fiction. The last ones I read were "The Quantum Brain", "Fabric of the Cosmos", "The Elegant Universe" and a couple more. Just some light reading. hehe

Ooh nice, sounds tres interessant. Wonder if any of those mentioned quantum entanglement or is that totally different? The two particles being one thing is pretty cool.

I'm reading the ethical slut, all about love by bell hooks, and I'm about to start my first pratchett book: monstruous regiment ✨ what do you think of the vibes of his writing so far?

Nice, I just added All About Love to my wishlist. I've been interested in differences between individualist/babylonian/paternal/yang vs collectivist/zion/maternal/yin cultures lately. Right away, I would think integrating love would fall into the latter category. I'm curious what the author mentions about the workplace. What do you think of it so far?

And I'm really enjoying the wit and humor in Prachett's writing style! It's poetic at times, but also comical. He tends to add some very random and ridiculous imagery which I do appreciate lol Are you liking Monstrous Regiment?

Honestly she's incredibly inspiring. The way she breaks down cultural biases, statistics, and then adds her own thoughts/opinions on top of them with clear delineation is very easy to follow. I'm taking lots of her words to heart, others as things to masticate and see if I'll integrate further down the line. Overall, about halfway through this book gives me a lot of hope that others share my desire for nourishing affection and an inherent rejection of this culture of mysterious love

Yes I'm about 2 discs into the 6 disc audiobook and it's hilarious! The detail is so easy to follow, I love how the characterizations match the characters personalities so well. I'm hooked, and Polly is a whole vibe I kinda relate

I don't recall the books mentioning that, but I've studied it. It's fascinating. An apparent "universal" law in physics is that nothing, even "information" can travel faster than light (something about relativity, time, and mass). But recent experiments, with two entangled particles, proved that when the state of one particle changed, the other particle's state changed as well, instantly, no matter how far apart. This experiment revealed that this defied physics and cannot be explained.

The trippy thing is, if you believe in singularities, and the "big bang", us, you and me, all matter, all energy, everything in the universe was once in an infinitely small little dot.

So wouldn't that mean ALL particles entangled?

A bit late but The King in Yellow, I was inspired to read this by the game SIgnalis which I would recommend,
I just Googled The King in Yellow, and the premise reminds me of Palaniuk's Lullaby (granted Lullaby was written much later and instead of a play there was a song). Also didn't realize there were so many themes of this book in True Detective, loved that show.
